As everyone begins the new semester here at LMU, it can be pretty easy to fall into the same old routines, especially when it comes to food. However, little do people know that LMU has a plethora of exciting foods just waiting to be tried. You just have to know where to look.
5.) The Habit’s Sundae
It may be hard to believe that the Habit has an ice cream based dessert item that isn’t a milkshake or malt, but fortunately for us, it couldn’t be truer. Made up of vanilla soft serve ice cream, Hershey’s chocolate syrup, whipped cream and nuts, this sundae leaves its consumers wanting little else. When comparing it to its shake and malt siblings, the sundae is not only cheaper in price, but lower in calories as well. Making it an absolute must-have.
4.) The Cereal Bar
I’ve been at LMU for almost two years now, and I have yet to see someone getting a bowl of cereal from the cereal bar at the Lair. That is a problem. The Lair's cereal bar has absolutely everything you could ask for from a cereal bar, or a regular bar for that matter. We’re talking multiple bowl sizes, a wide variety of cereal choices (both healthy and unhealthy), and two different types of milk. What more could a person want?
3.) The Double Smoked Bacon, Cheddar & Egg Sandwich
There was a definite reason as to why I ran out of Lion Dollars my freshman year, and that reason is the Double Smoked Bacon, Cheddar and Egg Sandwich. Finding its home at the Starbucks in the library—I would be lying if I said this sandwich wasn’t a mouthful. And by mouthful, I’m not talking about the length of the sandwich’s name, I’m talking about the physical process of making your mouth full with this delicious breakfast sandwich. It is an absolute must-have for any early morning class or late night study session.
2.) The Twisty Stick
If God were to create a food in his image, I imagine it would look something like a Twisty Stick from Pizza Hut. This thing is absolutely delicious. Resembling some sort of large earthworm and tasting like Heaven, the Twisty Stick is just a string of mozzarella cheese encased in a breaded outside. Don’t let its simplicity fool you—the Twisty Stick is significantly cheaper than the pizzas it shares a menu with, and quite frankly, it might even taste better too.
1.) A Plate of Bacon
The introduction of the Original Burger Company to the Lair has brought more than just a new and interesting selection of tasty burgers: it has also brought bacon. By using the touch screen order system, you are, at least as of now, able to order a plate of bacon. It may involve some deselecting and selecting and perhaps a strange look from the chef, but it is possible. And to be honest, there’s been a lot of great items on this list, but what is better than bacon?
Hopefully, this list has provided you with something new to try in these coming weeks. I do want to warn you, however, several of these items can be highly addictive, so it’s a dangerous game, especially when there are Lion Dollars at stake.
