Sodexo workers staged a protest outside of the Lair on Wednesday, Nov. 13. Protestors held up signs reading "UNITE HERE! Sodexo Unfair/Sodexo Injusto" as they walked in a circle and chanted. Organizers handed out signs and clappers to people passing by and encouraged students to join the protest.
Students are not surprised at the cancellation of study abroad for the fall 2021 semester, but many worry they will lose out on the opportunity before graduating.
In light of a significant decrease in COVID-19 cases at LMU and L.A. County, LMU has updated the testing schedule for those in the mandatory surveillance testing program. The University is also encouraging all students to get vaccinated before returning to campus in the fall.
Derek Chauvin has been found guilty on all counts for the death of George Floyd. Various parts of the LMU community, including the Office of the President and the School of Education, have released statements in response.
