LMU's campus was closed-off last night after a shooting occurred just outside the gates of LMU's Loyola Blvd. entrance near 80th St. and Loyola Blvd. at 9:55 p.m., according to the LAPD.

A teenager was injured in a shooting incident following a rivalry basketball game between Westchester High and Fairfax High in Gersten Pavilion. The boy is being treated at UCLA Medical Center. LMU hosted the Basketball game.

LAPD, Public Safety and L.A. Unified School District police responded immediately, but no suspect was apprehended.

A Hummer and a small car were involved in the shooting, according to some accounts. The LAPD has not however determined whether shots were fired from a vehicle. A LAPD Lieutenant also mentioned that they would continue investigating whether or not the incident is gang related.

Don Juan, a senior accounting major, passed by the crime scene after the shooting occurred. "I saw a guy with a gun shot, bleeding from the side. People were like, 'What's going on?'" said Juan.

Other eyewitnesses of the shooting declined to comment.

"So far everything is safe, and all visitors have departed the property. It was an off-site event," said Laura Pennington, the manager of public safety.

"It's not our investigation, it is in the hands in the LAPD," said Pennington.

Public Safety did not immediately issue an emergency warning, and refused to comment about why students were not informed. However a warning was eventually issued at 12:29 a.m.
