The men’s basketball team will participate in a postseason tournament next week.
The men’s basketball team’s turnaround season is not quite over, as the Lions have been invited to participate in a postseason tournament. According to a season ticket holder who received a call from the LMU ticket office yesterday, LMU will host a game on Wednesday. The opponent is yet to be determined. The tournaments most likely to consider LMU would be the National Invitational Tournament (NIT), College Basketball Invitational (CBI) or the CollegeInsider.com Tournament (CIT). Tournaments cannot officially announce their participants until after the NCAA Tournament brackets are revealed. The NCAA announces this year’s bracket Sunday evening. “I really, really hope we get to play somewhere,” said Head Coach Max Good after Sunday’s loss to Gonzaga. “We’d play any place. I think these kids have earned it, and they have some big wins over some big teams.” The biggest wins on LMU’s resume include a win at Notre Dame, a win over USC, a win over Long Beach State and a home win over then No. 9 Gonzaga.
