What can you learn in 60 seconds? The Los Angeles Loyolan and the University Honors Program's annual event, 60-Second Lectures invites professors to give a lecture on a topic in their field in just one minute.

In 2020 professors were given the opportunity to explore the conflicting emotions of “Hope and Hopelessness” through the lens of their own research and fields of study.

In 2018 professors shaped their lectures around the theme of “Stories of our time.”

2015’s theme took a cue from the popular Freakonomics podcast, asking each professor to answer the question, “What idea in your field should die?”

In 2019 professors were asked to explore, “What held their field back” from progressing.

2017’s theme was inspired by President Snyder’s call to global imagination, asking each professor to “Imagine a world…”

In 2014 professors were asked to present on an idea they were optimistic about in their field.
