The track team will head south to San Diego this weekend to participate in the UCSD Triton invitational. Junior Danielle Shanahan recently ran her first sub-16 minute 5k race and is now ranked No. 11 in the country.

Women's tennis

Women's tennis will head to the Bay Area this weekend for two WCC games. First they'll take on USF on Friday and then head to Santa Clara for a match on Saturday. The Lions won big on Sunday, defeating the University of Oregon 5-2 at LMU.

Men's tennis:

Men's tennis will host USF and Santa Clara this weekend to continue WCC play. The Lions will face the Dons Friday and the Broncos Saturday. The Lions fell to No. 33 University of San Diego 7-0 over the weekend.


The Lions will get back to play this Wednesday after losing the weekend series to Pepperdine at home 2-1. The Lions take on CSU Bakersfield on the road. Then they'll travel north to Pacific University for a three game series this weekend.


Softball dropped two out of three to USD over the weekend on the road. They'll host their first home conference series of the season this weekend against Santa Clara. The Lions have a double header Saturday and one final game Sunday.


Monday marked the beginning of the West Coast Conference Championship tournament for LMU Men’s Golf. Five Lions will be making the trip to Blackhawk Country Club in Danville, CA. The three-day tournament takes place from Monday, April 18 to Wednesday, April 20.

Beach Volleyball:

LMU Beach Volleyball (5-14) travels to Northridge for two matches on Wednesday, where they’ll play CSU Northridge and UCLA. This is the final regular season appearance for the team before the WCC Championships, which begin on this Friday, April 22 in Santa Monica.

Women’s Water Polo:

Freshman goalkeeper Sky Flores’ 12 saves were not enough to lift 19th-ranked LMU Women’s Water Polo (10-18, 3-3 WCC) over the 14th-ranked San Diego State Aztecs. The game was rather low scoring, with the Aztecs winning by a score of just 6-4. With SDSU clinching the regular season title, LMU currently sits in 4th in the Golden Coast Conference. LMU will wrap up the regular season this weekend, with games against Concordia and CSU Northridge on Thursday, and Saturday respectively.

Ryan Hartnett is a freshman recording arts major. When he's not writing about the latest news on LMU athletics, he's producing music. His favorite things include electronic music, music festivals and pizza because who doesn't like pizza.

Tim De Vries is junior mechanical engineering major from Lake Oswego, Oregon. He tells people he's from Portland because they don't know where Lake Oswego is. Tim is a lifelong Portland Trailblazers fan, and wishes he could spend more time at the beach.
