Throughout the fall semester, I have been ranking the top five athletes of the week. With 15 lists, there were 38 different athletes who earned a spot through their effort on the court, field or in the pool. To celebrate their accomplishments, I decided to see who ended up being LMU’s top athlete (LMUTA) of the semester. By looking at the previous lists, I assigned a point system for each entry. A first place finish is worth five points, second is worth four and so on. If two athletes tied for a slot, they both earned points, but were reduced .5 points. For example, if two athletes earned first place, they would each earn 4.5 points. I also tallied up how many first place finishes each athlete got. Again, if two people finished first, they would be reduced half a point. Here are the results of last semester’s LMUTAs.
