Opinion

Our Opinion section writes articles based on a certain viewpoint. Everything from complaints or appreciation on campus to national issues such as politics or laws.

Opinion Editor

• Attend the weekly Loyolan meeting from 10:15pm - 11:15pm on Wednesday
• Attend the weekly editorial staff meeting after the Wednesday night meeting
• Be in print production on Monday until production is finished
• Be in digital production occasionally throughout the week
• Determine Opinion story coverage
• Supervise, train and motivate writers
• Track and monitor that all staff in Opinion are paid for their per piece work
• Enforce and meet deadlines
• Determine the layout of the Opinion section
• Review, edit, proof read and take responsibility for all production in Opinion



Assistant Opinion Editor

• Attend the weekly Loyolan meeting from 10:15pm - 11:15pm on Wednesday
• Be in print production on Monday until the Opinion Editor no longer needs you
• Be in digital production occasionally throughout the week, determined by the Opinion Editor
• Help find Opinion stories to report on
• Help train new employees for Opinion
• Write articles for the Opinion section
• Assist the Opinion Editor with any other responsibilites and tasks asked of you



Opinion Intern

• Attend the weekly Loyolan meeting from 10:15pm - 11:15pm on Wednesday
• Work 2 hours on Monday during print production
• Write at least 1 article every week
• Have opinions worth writing about (every opinion is worth writing about)
